What can I expect if I come out to run with the group, will I be welcomed?
YES! We try to be as welcoming and friendly as possible to new people joining us for runs. We’ve heard it said numerous times that this community is welcoming too all skill-levels. We can’t wait to meet you, insha’Allah! Please familiarize yourself with the code of conduct prior to joining the running club.
Do I have to join Telegram before ever coming out to run with the club on a Saturday run?
NO! You are entirely welcome to check us out first to see if we are a good fit for you. However, we love new members so if you find you like DMRC (and you will), please join!
Is DMRC for beginning runners?
We welcome runners of all abilities and have had many beginning runners over the years. However, if you have not been running at all or running is completely new to you, you may not be able to find someone to run with at your pace if a new couch-to-5K training plan isn’t beginning. If this is the case, please DM us to for the best day to join.
I'm new to running and can't run very long.
Don't worry! The only way to get better is to run more! Running with others also distracts you from your pain. The club is perfect for that! Runners love to talk about running and will give you more advice than you probably want.
Can I expect to improve my running and fitness if I join DMRC??
YES, but it all depends upon what you are willing to invest. So, if you are serious about setting goals and achieving them, you will improve your fitness and running by joining the club. Most of our members who have improved will tell you that they have exceeded their goals and that their fellow DMRC members played a role in helping them do it. Alhamdulillah!
